If you know all the right techniques, can you use a medium quality camera and a minimum of equipment to take pictures like a pro? No! Of course your can’t, at least not consistently. Nonetheless, there remains the problem of doing the best you can without a $5000 camera, a tripod, and assistants holding reflectors in choreographed formations. You do have one advantage over the pro: you are where you are at any particular time, and the pro is probably not. Actually, an overwhelming majority of the earth’s inhabitants are not where you are. That’s an advantage you should seek to cash in.
This blog is all about doing that. The QuickShotArtist.com main site has tutorials that cover many of the basic techniques involved, and we reference those tutorials frequently. The blog is mainly a continuing series of examples of how the techniques are applied in specific situations. We will also review books, equipment, and other resources related to photography.
