Snow in the Sierras
California Highway 4, near Tamarack
This snowy area is about two and half hours due east of San Francisco, where it almost never snows. People from the coast can
enjoy the snow for a day, then, another enjoyment, leave without having to shovel it.

A photo of snow won't show how deep it is unless the snow is either cut by a plow or piled next to or on to something. Rocks are
good for that. Shadows help define the shape, and also minimize the glare.
