Varigated Dahlia
Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens, Fort Bragg, California
This 47 acre botanical garden is a real gem. The dahlias are in bloom in late summer. Rhododendrons do well on the northern
California coast and are a major attraction in the spring.

Go for extreme closeups of flowers. Most digital cameras have a 'macro' mode that enables automatic close focusing.
Remember to engage the macro mode for distances less than a foot or two. This shot was hand held.
